If you have ever had a fish tank before, you might be wondering if you can use some of the fish decor and put it inside the reptile tank. We will discuss that topic today, and also include some of our favorite decorations that can be used in both fish tanks and reptile tanks.
Can you use fish decor in a reptile tank?
Yes, you can certainly use fish decor in a reptile tank. There are plenty of fish tank ornaments, such as towers, caves, and branches that are perfect for your reptile tank.
If you are taking the decor out of a fish tank, it is important that you thoroughly wash the ornament before placing it inside the aquarium. This is just incase their is any harmful bacteria or algae that is still on the decor. We recommend placing the ornament in a solution of 1/4 cup of bleach to 1/2 gallon.
After letting it soak for 15 minutes, take it out wearing a pair of plastic gloves and run in over some warm water for another 2 minutes. After drying you can put it directly into the reptile tank.
You should keep in mind the size of the fish decor you are putting in your reptile tank. You don’t want to put in an item such as a small cave that your reptile won’t fit in or might get stuck.
