How to make a gumball machine into a fish tank
In this tutorial, you will learn how to make a gumball machine into a fish tank.
Step 1) Take apart the top part of the gumball machine
You should remove all the parts that are inside and at the bottom of the bowl. The only thing that should be left is the red base, the glass bowl, and the red top.
Step 2) Covering the bottom part of the bowl
The best way to cover the bottom is to cut out a circle of glass. You should first place the bowl on the glass and trace a circle around the glass so you know the exact side. Afterwards, cut out the circle of glass with glass cutters or pliers.
**If you don’t have access to glass or glass cutters, there is another way to make a gumball fish tank. You can purchase a fish bowl that will fit inside the gumball machine. You should super glue the bottom part of the bowl to the gum ball machine to make sure it stays put. You should try to find a fish bowl that the cap of the gumball machine will fit on.
Step 3) Sticking the glass to the bowl
Using extra strong glue or aquarium sealant, lubricate the top part of the bowl. Then, place the glass circle that you cut out onto the glue. You should clean off the excess glue and then let it dry for a couple minutes.
Once the glass is securely on the bowl, you can flip it over and set the bowl inside the gum ball machine.
Step 4) Decorate!
Lastly, add rocks and plants to the fish tank. You should personalize the gumball fish tank however you like it. We recommend using colorful pebbles because they resemble candy. You can also add a couple plants to add nutrients to the gumball fish tank and keep your fish healthy. We recommend only keeping one fish in a gumball fish tank.
